Example of a Creative Dance Class Plan

Intro: Have the students make up a move they believe describes them and standing in a circle everyone will repeat the moves and names of those before them. This would help students remember each others names and build a sense of community.

Warm up:  progressive movement from a laying position all the way to standing (laying, seated, mid-level, standing)- increase intensity

Intro of Theme: our theme will be elements of nature (water, fire, wind, earth)

Assessment: have the students pick elements in group and do choreography and perform it in front of each other (they should make two 8 counts)

Cool down: reverse the warm up, have the students move from standing to laying and go from higher intensity to lower intensity)
